I found this recipe here on this site about a year ago. I’ve made this now about 6 times and my family absolutely loves it. I have one very picky eater and he says this is his favorite meal. Thank you so much for the recipe!

Note: I like it a bit spicy so I added a table spoon of red pepper flakes to the recipe.

My husband really like it. I thought it could use a bit more flavor but maybe it just needed a little more salt. I’ll definitely be making it again because it was as easy as can be! We made burrito bowls with the meat and I plan to use some of the leftovers for salads this week and then what’s left to fill taquitos this weekend. Made a ton!

Hello there: I was very excited to get another slow cooker beef roast recipe..”Mississippi style” is good but I needed something else to boost my protein stats..I have a 2 pound chuck roast (there’s only 2 of us). I followed the directions exactly cutting all ingredients in half. My question is: do I cut the cook time in half as well? I understand low and slow is the way to go with the slow cooker, but I do not want to overcook it. I searched this online but all I found was to use a smaller size cooker (not an option right now) or use an oven-safe bowl inside the slow cooker. The bowl trick did not work out for me at all! Thanks for all you do and I hope you are doing well these days!

I made this but had to make substitutions. I didn’t have pop so used soda steam carbonated water & each bottled lemon & lime and added sugar. My family loved it. Today I will do the same way but due it in theoven

I love to make this, but before serving, I put some olive oil in a pan, get it real hot, then crisp the shredded meat up. It’s a lot like a carnita!
