Make perfectly crispy Air Fryer Chicken Wings with this easy method, including seven different flavor options for wings everyone will love.
We know how much you all love chicken wings. While some may consider chicken wings to be delicious party food, we think they’re just delicious food, no party required! We’ve been known to make a ton of them for dinner, or to simply snack on over the weekend with the family. There really isn’t a wrong way to eat chicken wings. Sadly, there are times that we really don’t want to turn on the oven and warm up the house, meaning we’ve had to come up with other methods to get our wing fix. Air fryer to the rescue! Wings cooked in the air fryer are still just as perfectly crispy, with the most flavorful meat. Time to get your air fryer off the shelf and give these a try!
Fresh vs. Frozen Wings:
We prefer to always use fresh wings, however, we know how convenient it is to keep a bag of frozen wings on hand at all times. If you’re going to use frozen wings, let them thaw in the fridge overnight before baking, and make sure to pat them dry really well. You readon’t want that extra water content.
Baking Powder:
Baking powder is an essential ingredient in crispy baked chicken wings. It raises the pH of the chicken, breaks down the peptide bonds in the skin, and with that, makes the skin more crispy. Science, y’all!
Can I bake these in the oven?
You certainly can bake chicken wings in the oven instead of using an air fryer. We’ve got you covered with complete instructions for baked chicken wings too!
Serving Suggestions for Air Fryer Chicken Wings:
Traditionally, you would want carrot sticks and celery on the side, and we are not ones to mess with tradition. There is also a hot debate on ranch vs bleu cheese as a dipping sauce. Whichever you prefer, we won’t judge.
Short on time? Try our “Cheater” Method:
If you are short on time making refrigeration for 12-24 hours impossible, we’ve got you covered. You can bake them at a super low temperature to dry them out before then blasting them with heat to finish cooking through.
So, rather than refrigerating your wings at all, preheat your air fryer to 225 degrees Fahrenheit and air fry for approximately 15 minutes. At that point, remove your wings from the air fryer, and increase the temperature to 375 degrees. Once it is at temperature, add your wings back in and to continue on with the recipe as written.
Storage And Reheating Instructions:
Air fryer chicken wings are best served fresh from the air fryer. You can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in an oven preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit until warmed through.

only had time to refrigerate wings for 4 hrs but they turned cooked up perfectly in air fryer!!! The best ever, THANKS
These were delicious and cooked perfectly - great easy recipe and thanks for the many sauce options! Trying the teriyaki sauce tonight - can’t wait!
Delicious! I will make this often. Thank you for the great recipe.
These turned out delicious! I did the short-cut version as I didn’t have time to wait the 12 hours for them to do their “thing” in the fridge. Anyhow I followed directions to put them in the air fryer at 225 for 15 mins but my air fryer won’t go below 250. So I put them in at 250 for 10 mins then followed the directions from there. They turned out great and as well as the teriyaki sauce recipe. Yum!
These wings were perfect!!!! I used my favorite seasoning, but the technique was what made them incredible.
I made these yesterday for the football playoff games and they were perfect! Crispy on teh outside and juicy on the inside. Perfection!
